Confinement Food: Double-boiled chicken, mushroom and Red Dates Soup

No. I'm not pregnant. I was using my old laptop and found some confinement food recipe and thought why not share it with other people. So here it is:

Ingredients:
1.2L Chicken Stock
50g old ginger smashed
40g chopped chicken
20 red dates
12 chinese mushroom soaked
splash of white rice wine (bai mi jiu)
salt to taste

Method:
1. Bring chicken stock to a boil
2. Add the rest of the ingredients.
3. Lower the fire and simmer for 15minutes.
4. Transfer soup into a herbal pot or slow cooker.
5. Steam or slow cook for 2 hours.
6. Add salt to taste.

Okay now i can delete one file from my laptop. Too many things inside already!

I sent my D40 for servicing last week. They started to charge for servicing fees RM40 for models D300 and below. So while waiting for my sister to come and join me for breakfast, I snapped some pictures in my dad's workshop.

My dad operates a car workshop.

I have spent my earlier days as a kiddo in this workshop cos my mum refused to let me stay home. It was considered more dangerous to stay home that time because I had a drug addict uncle staying in the same house.

That's what I do when i go to the departmental store , perfume section. I used to love perfume but now I hardly use it. It's been a long time since my last purchase. I used to spray a lil' everyday when I was working in the office. A lil' is a must on the wrist, neck and errrr the cleavage. Anyway its hard for me to buy perfumes because I am quite picky when it comes to Scent. I love flowery scents but not too sweet like Lolita Lempika's. Can't stand that smell! You see I have sensitive nose and sometimes I cannot smell anything. So when the nose is in the "good mood" I make sure that my nose is sniffing something nice.

I was busy carrying Jayden in Japanese Garden, Bukit Tinggi and he was blocking my view so there's no way that I can continue to snap pictures. I like to kneel down, tilt and do whatever just to get a clear shot at things. So what happened was, my second sister took over my dslr camera and she shot this. Not bad for a first timer. And what surprised me was she used the manual focusing. *blink blink* Really surprised me. I have been using dslr since .... I forgot when and I have never used manual focusing before. Probably that's why my pictures is not that err...nice.

Anyway, this picture was uploaded in WeSay.com, a new website for you to share your pictures regardless whether you have taken it from your dslr or just your normal cellphone cameras. Oooooo...this is my favourite ice cream. This pack costs me Rm16.90 for 9 lil mochis and you can only find it in Jusco, that's if they have stocks.

I remember when I was in primary school, I used to save up a few days allowance just to buy this. It costs me Rm1.50 for 2 big mochi balls. Too bad they don't produce them that way anymore. Sometimes, if my sister is in the mood for it, we'll share. but they don't produce the small packs no more. Now it's smaller and cost so much more. Everything is so expensive now!

Cheap and good stuff, that's what I like. In fact, everyone loves cheap and good stuff. Don't you? Although I'm in the Marketing line, I'm not a a very brand concious person like other Marketeers. I mean, what for? I'm always working at home and when I go out, don't expect me to put on dangling earings, wear bangles, nice belts and etc. The most for me is a nice pair of sunglasses to cover my eyes from the sun and to look good (or even cover my huge eye bag!) and also my pair of jeans. Can't leave home without my jeans.

Anyway,talking about cheap and good stuff, do you know that Zenni provides a wide selection of eyeglasses. I must say, $8 a pair is really a good deal. I might even get a cool tinted sunglasses since it's so cheap. What is their secret for selling it so cheap? Any catch? Nope! It's because they only sell manufactured glasses without any middle man. That's why!

I'm looking at the entire range now. Half frame, rimless, women fashion, men fashion and etc. My eyes are getting blur by now. *LOL* They even have children frames! It's so cute and I might even get one for Jayden and Justin. Just for the fun of it since it's so cheap!

I am currently taking Fenugreek pills from GNC to increase my breast milk production. And I have seen from forums and blogs that raw fenugreek can be used too. So I went to the hypermarkets and supermarkets to look for fenugreek and it was written in Bahasa and I have no idea how it looks like. Yeah i know, I'm stupid enough not to google and see how it looks like. Finally I managed to find fenugreek from the organic shop. I thought to myself "Hey...very cheap compared to the GNC pills. For a pack it's only RM5. So I happily bought 4 packs and went home.

And the other day.. i saw fenugreek in Carrefour and Jusco. For a pack it only costs me RM0.60. BUT it's not ORGANIC you see. So you see the big difference? RM5 vs RM0.60! That's like how many times more????

Sometimes I wonder whether it is better to go NIC-organic or just the normal way. Hey, my grandparents been taking all the non organic food and they live till they're about 90. So if I were to take organic food , do you think I will live longer and healthier?

Home Phototherapy for Jaundice

According to BabyCentre:

• 50 per cent of full-term infants develop jaundice on the second or third day after birth. It disappears after one week.

• 80 per cent of premature babies develop it between the fifth and seventh days after birth (Evans 2007). It usually disappears within two months of birth.

The normal practise in Malaysia (don't know about other parts of the world), we will bring the baby out and put him under the morning sun. For some cases, like my Justin's (our house is lack of morning sun) and since the reading is going up, we're advised to put him under the phototherapy at home for 3 days.

The charges are RM445 for 3 days, much cheaper than staying in hospital. Plus its much more convinient for everyone (mom and baby) cos you can cuddle the lil one more and breastfeed him exclusively.

When I was in my college days, I can say that NO guys came after me. I wonder why. Is it because I was fat? Yeah, that was one of the major problem I had when I was in my college. I was 57kgs! Even my mother in law ( back then my boyfriends' mom) complaint that I was fat. So to the gym I went and I never loose any weight for months! I finally stopped when my friends went to Australia to further their studies and I was left alone here. Then, my weight dropped like *swoosh* downwards. I became 52kgs and yet no guys were interested with me. Well, except for my boryfriend then(now husband).

Later, I became thinner and thinner and still no one came after me. I was thinking to myself, "boy, I must be so damn ugly". Finally, a mad college friend of mine came after me. Yeah, came after me he did! He even stalked me and started to have fasinations about me. Later did he confessed to me that a few guys went and spoke to him about me. They're also interested in me but they never came after me. Why? Because I potrait a very "strong" characteristics and seems to be "too smart" for guy.

See how Asian man thinks? They only want dumb girlfriends so that they can manipulate the girlfriends. *shake head* Anyway I'm glad that those losers never come after me and I stayed with my now husband for 7 years before we signed the papers. Guess he love to be loved by a strong and smart woman eh? *lol*

I have graduated from Degree In Business Studies, majored in Marketing. Now, I'm in designing. I'm looking at my MAC screen like for a minimum of 7 hours, with my fingers on the mouse for at least 6 hours. And not to mention my eyes....my eyes are so tired!

And then I turn over to the IT guy and he's smiling at his working place. He's earning much more than me, and yet he's enjoying his work. That's the difference between us two. That's because there's so much for him to learn and so much more for him in the future. Of course he will have his headache time where he needs to work overnight to solve some issues but he gets so excited about it and you can see that he's overjoyed when he managed to work things out. The expression was like a new father who waited so long for the birth of his son!

He had just announced that he's moving on to another company, with at least 100% increment to his current salary and he will be holding a managerial position. The application for the position was smooth and he joked and said "it must be the Cisco training that I've attended!". He probably was bragging about the pay but who knows, he might not be lying. Opportunities are everywhere especially when you're in IT line, because IT grows everyday and it has constant changes and need people like him who knows how to upgrade himself with brand new learning everyday.

Online Flower Shop

My colleague got hospitalized the other day and since it was a last minute thing (and I hate to google and look for other resources), I picked up my phone and called Yenjai. His wife, Grace owns an online flower shop and without knowing what she sent over, I said "yeah, please keep it within my budget and make sure it's nice, okay?"

And later she sent me a picture and it was simply gorgeous, exactly like what I have in mind!

Not bad eh? And then my colleague sent me an sms and told me she liked it alot, although few days before she was hospitalized she told me she rather get money than flowers from her boyfriend. Well, I wont give her money cos it's not CNY now and plus I believe everyone deserves to get flowers once in a while especially when we're under the weather.

Yeap I woke up at 5 am. My body was like leaking all over. The nose, the eyes the everywhere. The freaking air cond was so damn cold and someone just gotto pull the whole damn blanket over to his side and since we changed to king size bed and we sleep so damn far from each other, lagi teruk. Pissed, I woke up and folded the mountain of clothes. Mountains and mountains of it. I wonder how come I need to wash the clothes and fold the clothes all the time and not someone else.So I folded my own clothes and Jayden's of course and left someone's clothes out. Just think that he doesn't deserve it. Let it grow into a huge mountain and see if moss and fungus will grow out of it. Proly I will do that to his dirty laundry too. Yeah, why not? As if he will give a damn about it.

Then I started to sweat. Niamah, why isit so damn hot at 6 am in the morning? I took a shower and came out very fresh and I boiled some water and washed the rice cooker. I tell you, I dun have any freaking idea why he must leave the rice cooker unwashed in the sink. But if I were to do that, he'll nag me? And each time he leave it there I gotto bloody wash it cos I need to cook rice the next day?

So here I am at 6:50 am on our 4th anniversary, waiting for the sun to rice. opps.. already naik.

I took 2 days leave. Jayden skipped school today. Why?

Because we wanted to accompany his dad for his birthday.

And what happened? He arranged to meet his customer on his leave. He said he will be back at 10 ish before 11. And he came back at 12.

So what's the point? I don't know.

Yesterday was the same. He went to work.

I should've gone to work and J should've gone to sch. At least I won't waste my 2 days unpaid leave.

For few days, I thought that my plan is going to be realized soon. I told my hub that I want to WFM or even be SAHM when no2 comes. He as usual said "Ah huh" or "orggh". I discussed with him, or maybe i think I did discuss with him because he replied to some of my questions like "Can you handle the financial" and "how much are you gonna give me as pocket allowance" *big smile*. And he end up saying " As long as you're happy..."

So fine. I told my boss about my intention to work from home. He said that shouldn't be a problem. But he need to discuss it with my no2 boss. When it comes to no2 boss, everything is a No No. So there might be a possibility that I will completely quit and just concentrate to be a SAHM.

And suddenly, my hubs came home and totally shattered my plan. He threw my plans into the rubbish bin just like that. He told me about his intention to work on his own, work from home. I asked him "then what about my plan to WFM or even SAHM?" He just told me that WFM is okay but SAHM- cannot. Someone need to work full time until his business is stable. To simplify it, that "someone" is me.

You see, suddenly my vision is all blurred out. My mind went blank. For days and days we've been discussing about it and suddenly he just came back and told me another story and totally turn my plan upside down. Sometimes I think I should Be angry with him because he should have told me about his plan so I can think of other another plan. But nope.. he chose to be a cockle, no matter how u dig and dig, he just wouldn't open his mouth and tell it out.

All I can say now is that..I'm in total lost now. My hub totally forgot about the "Ball in my tummy". He forgot that this ball will turn into a human soon.

Firefly (the naive girl in my office) received a call yesterday from a bank offering her an opportunity to apply for a credit card. She was thrilled because her application was rejected many times due to her low income. Well, anyway she told me about it and asked me what I think about her getting a credit card with her low income. I told her that it is okay to apply for one and keep for the "just in case" or emergency case in the future.

But she has too many queries and she is driving me up the wall! What if I used the credit card and then I don't have money to pay back on time? What if my credit card went missing? What if my boyfriend took my credit card and used it on behalf of me? So many what IFs!!! *pull hair* Now you know why we call her naive eh?

But anyway I answered her queries (I'm starting to feel like an information counter now) and even told her that with the credit cards instant approval system, it is easier to apply for credit cards nowadays compared to the past. Now, everyone can even apply for visa cards. But one advise to her is that she needs to plan her financial properly and use only when necessary or when she think she is able to pay back. New Milo Junior

I was at Tesco Shah Alam when the promoter handed to me a cuppa of new Milo Junior. It was meant for the kiddos aged from 2-5 years old. At first sip, it tasted like the one I made myself (Milo + Fresh Milk). It tasted quite nice and my son love it. But we still have stocks for the original Milo. So probably the next round we'll get that for him. But drinking Milo and knowing it has DHA and whatever nutrient needed for growing up kid is kinda weird for me. I felt like a giant drinking small little children's milk. Hahaha

I have to make sure he wake up earlier so that he won't be blur when he's at sch.
And now I have to decide whether I should give up my job and stay home.

Lady O just received a call saying that she need to pay so and so amount of loan. She was shocked! She said that she thought she will make some money after she remortgaged her house. Then she recalculated and she realized that she made a mistake. A BIG MISTAKE! She missed the special terms and conditions of the existing mortgage. Therefore, now she need to pay more than what she expect to pay. *evil laugh*

You see, before you remortgage your house or whatever, you need to read the terms and condition of your current mortgage to avoid being in situation like this. Otherwise, instead of getting out of problem, you will end up being in more problem.

When Jayden got admitted into hospital a year ago for fever viral, we were so worried. Not only we're worried about his health condition but also worried about the hospital charges. Well, blame it on Big C. I told him about buying insurance for Lil J long time ago but he just brushed the idea off every single time! So when the time came, he regretted that we did not get Lil J covered with insurance. That really taught him a lesson! As soon as Lil J got out from the hospital, he immediately contacted the insurance agent and ask for quotes off different packages!

Few days later, the insurance agent came back with so many different quotes. At that moment, we had a headache trying to pick which was more suitable for Lil J. The other day Lady O dragged me into the room. i thought I sure kena left right and centre. mana tau she asked me for advise. Muahahahaha u read correctly. She asked me for advise.

She asked me if my previous sales guys similar to the ones we had now. She wanted to tembak the guys but i defended them and twist the story, saying that there wasn't clear guideline for them to do things. Anyway its too late to ask them to do anything to achieve the target. There's only less than a week to cny, that's when the promo stop.

Remember my super huge MAC? I think my eye sight is getting worst cos its so huge and its bright and I sit so near to the screen. I tried the make it less bright but then I won't be able to see the actual colour of my design. I tried lowering my seat but still my neck hurts. So probably a UV or whatever specs that can help me to prevent my eyesight from getting bad to worst. Prevention is always better than cure right?

Anyway, what do you think of this frame?

Many didn't know that my BlaBlaBla is already a dot com. I don't blame them. I didn't announce it on my blog either. At first I was thinking to move everything from blogspot to wordpress. But then I was too darn lazy to move and learn how to operate wordpress. So I asked my friend to link it to my blogspot instead. So blogspot and dotcom is the same thing.

I think I made the wrong move. I should've choose a more friendly web hosting choice. Since it was a friend that did it for me and he is forever busy with his work, I am too shy to ask him to add this and that to my domain. Well, just gotto wait for the domain to expire and move it to another host. This time I need to find the right one so I can have it my way!

I was talking with my colleague the other day .. and we mentioned bout the increased number of crime case around our neighbourhood. So we planned to look for some self defense classes to attend..

Coincidently a friend recommended us this Close Combat Training instructed by Captain Chris Pizzo. In here, we are exposed to The Truth About Martial Arts. He is well known to be the World Leader In Self Defense.

He is teaching the very same simplistic, and easy to learn answer that he discovered after nearly being stabbed to death during a road rage attack and it's better known as the Captain Chris' Close Combat.

So now.. ladies and gentlemen you once you learn the Close Combat Training, i'm sure we are not afraid of ppl coming into our house and grab our stuffs.

Headache!

I hate moving. Not that I've moved before but then looking at the hassle that some of my friends got into while moving really makes me dread to move. Hubs got so excited looking at new house and old houses. During our weekends, it was mostly spend on looking for houses near and far. Got so sick sitting in the car and traveling. Probably I'll just engage a mover and move everything for me. But then how about the unpacking? Sigh.....

And then there is mortgage to think about. Oh my god! the headache is like neverending! Why would anyone want to move? But then think of the bright side, the new house will be bigger. More room for Jayden to run around. More space for the dogs to roll around..all those pros and cons is killing my brain. Perhaps I should just go and look for an apartment for rent and cure my headache?

I am so sick of her. She is spending her money like water coming out of the pipe. I mean, come on. If you are so damn broke, stop spending money right? NO! she continued to use her credit cards, swipping and swipping it and buying things which sometimes she doesn't know what it was for!
